3 Great Ways to Drive Traffic to Instagram

3 Great Ways to Drive Traffic to Instagram

If you’re at the stage of thinking about how you can direct the right traffic to your Instagram account, you’re ahead of most people. Instagram is a numbers game, but it’s also a game of strategy – knowing what to do and when to do it is key to building up a successful following.

There are certainly good ways and bad ways to attract followers and likes to your account, so if you’re serious about your Instagram and want to give it the best chance of success, you’ll need to tap into what’s going to be the most effective method.

There are of course, Instagram bots and tools such as the now defunct – Instagress and the current beast, Follow Adder.

Outside of botting, there are agencies and services that will grow your account. Managed Social is recommended in that respect.

Here are three other ways to successfully drive traffic to your Instagram account.

Utilize Other Social Media Channels

You’re already halfway there if you let your audience on your other social media channels know that you have an Instagram account.

Syncing up your social media to work in conjunction with one another will make the crossover easy.

If you have a popular following on Pinterest of Facebook, chances are they’re going to want to check out what you’ve got going on over on Instagram.

Other social media platforms you might have that could’ve slipped under the radar is Reddit and Quora. In Reddit, relevance is key – people don’t want to be spammed, they want to be informed. Have a little look around and see what other people are posting before you chuck your link on there.

Quora is similar to Reddit in that people are looking for answers to problems. The best way to get traffic over to your Instagram is to work out how helpful you can be. If you are helping people directly through answering questions they have, they are more likely to follow you.

Haro

If you haven’t heard of Haro, you should.

Haro stands for Help a Reporter Out, and it’s a platform which connects journalists to people who have something to say about current trends and issues. If you happen to be an expert in the niche that you’re promoting, it’s a good idea to sign up for this connection, in case you come across a journalist who is looking to write a story about your particular level of expertise.

The way Haro works is that it sends out requests from journalists, and you respond with your pitch. If you go all the way and get picked by a journalist, there is a high chance that they will mention your Instagram in their report.

These journalists range from writing for small fry publishing companies to monopolies like Forbes. If you land a good one, your Instagram will be exposed to hundreds of thousands of readers who are highly likely to check out your Instagram.

Giveaways

Giving things away on Instagram isn’t new, but it is useful and if you haven’t tried it already, you should. It helps you reach a broader audience, gain a more significant following, and get people to respond to specific call-to-actions on your Instagram or landing page – like an email subscription.

A valid example of this is tagging. When giving something away, you can ask people to tag three of their friends in the comments below.

This automatically has drawn three other people to be involved in your giveaway and subsequently check out your Instagram.

Instagram marketing doesn’t have to be complicated. It’s all about making all the right moves, and building a positive reputation online in the process.

Remember, if you connect all your social media accounts that’s a lot of exposure, which means you’ve got to think about what kind of persona you want to portray.

Get the right message across, and you’ll be inundated with Instagram traffic before you know it.

I blog about a range of tech topics.

For the last 7 years I have been a social media marketing specialist and business growth consultant, so I write about those the most.

Full transparency: I do review a lot of services and I try to do it as objectively as possible; I give honest feedback and only promote services I believe truly work (for which I may or may not receive a commission) – if you are a service owner and you think I have made a mistake then please let me know in the comments section.
